The Bishop/ Overseer of Communication is appointed andĀ dismissed by theĀ Chief Presiding Prelate/International Presiding BishopĀ and ratifiedĀ byĀ TheĀ BishopĀ &Ā Overseer Council.Ā 

The responsibilities are as follows:Ā 


  1. Supervise designated volunteersĀ 

  2. Oversee timeliness andĀ movement of communication and leadership responsiveness internationallyĀ 

  3. Participates, implements,Ā and oversees communication programs that effectivelyĀ describe and promote the organization, its beliefs,Ā and productsĀ 

  4. Aid in the preparation of presentations and/or speeches geared toward the organizationĀ 

  5. Competent in giving advice on the strategy and policy of programsĀ 

  6. Arrange and conduct programs to keep up contact between organization representatives and the publicĀ 

  7. Individual must operateĀ with good judgment, and the ability to communicate thoughts clearly and simply which are essential in this positionĀ 

  8. Be able to research history and current events to the posture of COEGNĀ 

  9. Must be able to articulate current affairs and current events withĀ COEGNĀ in mindĀ 

  10. Keep an eye on public opinion about our organization or issuesĀ 

  11. Must monitorĀ website for up to date and correct actions and activities.Ā 

  12. Develop and implement communication strategies for the organizationĀ 

  13. Must monitorĀ correspondence being sent to all/any leadershipĀ 

  14. AdviseĀ management on communication issues and strategiesĀ 

  15. Plan public relations programs including the preparation of cost budgetsĀ 

  16. Present arguments on behalf of an organization to government, other organizations,Ā and special interest groupsĀ 

  17. OverseeĀ production of visual (film or video) and audio electronic material, including managing websitesĀ 

  18. WorkingĀ with the media and organizing publicity campaigns, preparing publications, crisis, and issuesĀ managementĀ

The Bishop/Overseer of Protocol is appointed andĀ dismissed by the Chief Presiding Prelate/International Presiding BishopĀ and The Bishop & Overseer Council..Ā 


The Bishop/Overseer of Protocol is responsible forĀ areas of protocol and is responsible forĀ moving the Fellowship in a matter of "decency and order" at all international meetings, conferences, workshops, consecrations, funerals,Ā and worship services as the position deemsĀ necessary. The BISHOP/OVERSEER OF PROTOCOL is responsible forĀ development and implementation of training, classes and development of these servants who are in the position of caring for the Episcopal servants of God.Ā 


The Bishop/Overseer of Protocol is responsible forĀ the following:Ā 

  1. Establishing order as it relates to the Episcopal flow chart of responsibility and areas of concernĀ 

  2. Establishing order for ceremonial,Ā purposes (i.e.Ā lineups, processions, conferences, consecrations etc.)Ā 

  3. CollaboratingĀ with the Bishop/Overseer of Christian Education to formulate training materials and classes to train and implement classes concerning and relativeĀ to protocolĀ 

  4. Preparing information for distribution and use to the Fellowship relativeĀ to protocol and procedures as overviewed and approved by the Bishop/Overseer of Christian EducationĀ 

  5. Calling in to question out of order procedures and processes that are ignored and disrupted by those in Episcopal authorityĀ 

  6. Assuring that the Executive Secretary and Bishop/Overseer of Christian Education are contacted for the proper presentation and approval of credentials to be presentedĀ 

  7. Assuring that the proper credentials are presented for the ceremonial purpose involved as expected and required by the office of the Chief Presiding Prelate/International Presiding BishopĀ and/or those offices of accountability and concernĀ 

  8. Oversee and approve the assigning of individuals to services, ceremonies and procedural programs of worship, praise and celebration as needed under the operatives of protocolĀ 

  9. Addressing those who are out of protocol procedural orderĀ 

  10. Establishing the Corps of Armor Bearers for greater understanding and discipline in the FellowshipĀ 

  11. Keeping a record of incidents and enforcing the criteria set forth as relativeĀ to ProtocolĀ 

  12. Reporting to the 3rdĀ Presiding Bishop incidents of ignorance of protocol and assessing need for further actionĀ 

  13. Keeping a record of actions of resolve relativeĀ to disregard of protocolĀ 

  14. Dispatching of letters of concern and addressing of issues that will enhance the significance of protocol and procedureĀ 

  15. Establishing the order of worship and service for said programs and ceremoniesĀ 

  16. Work with Regional Bishops to establishĀ protocol procedures and understanding for proper handling of issues and affairs within their jurisdictionĀ 

  17. Establishing a board of protocol officers to function on the national levelĀ 

  18. Establish a board of protocol officers to function on the state and local levelsĀ 

  19. Ensure that leadership of concern is aware, informed and trained to protocol proceduresĀ 

  20. DeterminingĀ the proper and adequate dress and attire for proper ceremonial purposes, meetings, conferences, funerals,Ā and travel as relegated by the Chief Presiding Prelate/International Presiding BishopĀ 

  21. DeterminingĀ process and procedure for state funeralsĀ 

  22. DeterminingĀ proper procedure for called and announced programs and ceremonies that mandate the order of the episcopacyĀ 

  23. Establish a procedure for ceremonial pomp and circumstance to assure the proper atmosphere and excellence attributed to certain ceremonial affairsĀ 

  24. Establish a relationship with the Bishop/Overseer of the College of Elders to Identify, recommend and involve ordained elders for involvement in the areas of protocolĀ
