About the Role

The State Bishop is a prelate with jurisdictional authority who is appointed or dismissed by the Chief Presiding Prelate. This appointment is ratified by The Bishop & Overseer Council., based on recommendations from the regional Bishop and the 3rd Presiding Bishop. The State Bishop/Overseer is someone who has demonstrated their leadership and development abilities as a State Overseer, having successfully conducted at least two state conferences with support from state leadership.

Requirements

  1. Jurisdictional authority: The State Bishop must possess the ability to oversee a designated state and have good repor within their designated state.

  2. Appointment and dismissal process: The individual should be familiar with the appointment and dismissal procedures set forth by the Chief Presiding Prelate and The Bishop & Overseer Council that if not found faithful or lack needed integrity, you will be placed on probation with COEGN and further disciplinary action will follow if actions are not modified to meet the level of integrity we carry.

  3. Ratification process: The State Bishop's appointment must be ratified by The Bishop & Overseer Council, requiring thorough understanding of the ratification process.

  4. Leadership and development abilities: The State Bishop must possess strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to foster growth and development within their state.

  5. State conference/program experience: The individual must have successfully conducted at least two state conferences, indicating their capability to organize and lead such events with support from state leadership.
